Boy & Girl Chihuahua Puppies Have Different Personalities
People often wonder how to choose between a boy Chihuahua and a girl Chihuahua. Are there really behavioral differences between the two? It goes beyond issues that could arise with house training boys. (Are they really always going to pee on your furniture ?) From my time with these little furballs I’ve noticed some slight differences between the boys and girls. In this article, I want to share my experiences with my Male Chihuahuas and the observations I’ve made over the years. While both genders are incredibly sweet, loving, and form deep bonds with their humans, the boys seem to be the bigger lovers. What do I mean by that?
Watching Boy Chihuahuas And Girl Chihuahuas
The Boy Chihuahuas have a tendency to cuddle a bit more. They love to snuggle up close, rolling onto their backs and inviting belly rubs or crowding onto your lap. Their affectionate nature shines through the way they gaze at you, their eyes sparkling with love as they reach out their tiny paws, pulling your finger closer or climbing over your hand. When they’re excited to see you, their little tails wag at lightning speed, a blur of joy that’s hard to resist. And when you pick them up and rest them on your shoulder, they let out adorable grunts and sniffles, as if whispering sweet nothings into your ear. It’s their way of saying, “Thank you, I love you.”
What About Boy Chihuahuas Peeing on Furniture
Not all Boy Chihuahuas are guilty of turning your furniture into their personal bathroom! Let’s dive in to the reasons behind this behavior: Territory Marking: Any unaltered Male dog might take it upon themselves to mark their territory, and what better way than giving your couch a little sprinkle? Excitement or anxiety in a young dog: Your Chihuahua sees you after a long day and can barely contain his joy! In moments of pure excitement or even anxiety, a little pee may escape as he wiggles and wiggles! Your Chihuahua is still learning the ropes of house training, and the concept of going only outside.
Boy Chihuahuas Sometimes Pee for Other Reasons
Health Check: Sometimes, frequent peeing can signal a health issue, like a urinary tract infection. If it’s new behavior, a vet visit might be in order! Social Dynamics: In a multi-pet household, your Boy Chihuahua might be engaging in a little dominance display! To turn this potty predicament around, consider neutering, consistent house training, setting up a designated pee spot, and thorough clean-up to deter repeat performances. With a sprinkle of patience and effort, your Chihuahua can learn to keep it classy and avoid the furniture fiasco! I start my Chihuahuas from the moment they learn how to walk to use the pads, when old enough to go outside with Mom.
Not Sure Your Boy Chihuahua Is House Trained?
This is the way I train my male Chihuahuas when I’m starting to introduce them to my living room. I use boy wraps for dogs. I personally prefer the washable ones. I have the best experience with those. They wear the wrap while they’re in the room. We take pee pee breaks often, where I remove the belly- wraps. I emphasize positive praise. It takes many repetitions over a long period of time before I trust them. The way you can tell it has worked is by the wrap being dry and stain free over a long period of time. And if your boy Chihuahuas figured out how to take the wraps off, there are also wraps with straps.
What About The Boy Chihuahua’s Energy?
Chihuahuas are like tiny dynamo bundles of joy! These little guys can be incredibly energetic and lively, packing a ton of personality into their petite frames. You might find them zipping around the house like little race cars, especially when playtime kicks in. They love to run, explore, and unleash their playful spirits, but don’t be fooled—once they’ve had their fun, they can turn into the ultimate cuddle buddies, snuggling up and enjoying some well-deserved downtime. Now, here’s where it gets interesting: not all Chihuahuas are created equal! Some are laid-back couch potatoes, while others are like little firecrackers, bursting with energy and ready to play at a moment’s notice.

What I Do When My Chihuahuas Have to much Energy
Chihuahua puppies are often characterized by their high energy levels, making them quite lively despite their small stature. These little dogs are known for their playful demeanor and require exercise and engagement to keep them happy and healthy. Regular activity is essential for their well-being. These puppies are incredibly playful, often showcasing a big personality that can surprise those who are unfamiliar with the breed. To avoid destructive behaviors that can arise from boredom, it is crucial to provide your Chihuahua puppy with daily walks and interactive playtime. To keep those energetic vibes in check, regular exercise and fun training sessions can work wonders. Think of it as giving them a fun job to do, keeping their minds and bodies engaged.
Each Boy Chihuahua & Girl Chihuahua Brings A Lot Of Joy
To contrast the two, girl Chihuahuas are equally affectionate, but often display their love in a somewhat different manner. They might be a bit more independent, yet they have their own unique ways of showing you they care. Each one has their own personality that makes them special, but it’s the boy Chihuahua who seem to take the crown for being the ultimate snugglers. So, whether you choose a boy or a girl, know that you’re in for a world of love and companionship. Each Chihuahua has their own quirks, but they all have a special place in your heart, bringing joy and laughter into your life.
Through The Years The Boy Chihuahuas Have Shown Me
Throughout the years, I have experienced that there is a difference between the boys Chihuahuas and girl Chihuahuas. Although they are both generally very sweet and loving, and have a very dear relationship with their humans, the boys seem to be the bigger lovers. Now, what do I mean by that? From an early age on, they like to cuddle a little bit more and push their bodies closely onto mine. They lie on their backs, asking to be rubbed on their belly or stroked on their heads. They give you the sweetest looks when they ask for your attention with their endearing emotions. And their little tails go 1000 miles an hour from excitement to see you.
Listening To Their Tiny Voices
When you pick your Boy Chihuahua up and place him next to your ear on your shoulder, he lets out adorable grunts and sniffles, as if whispering sweet nothings into your ear. It’s their way of saying, “I love you,” and it never fails to warm my heart.
